On the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the historic Victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War, the DOST Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population implemented the project “Volunteer Winners–2: The Knot of Victory” in the city of Shusha.
Supported by the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, this project was carried out as a continuation of last year’s “Volunteer Winners” programme.
The event began with a moment of silence in honour of the sacred memory of the martyrs.
Chairman of the DOST Agency’s Board, Farid Mammadov, emphasized at the event that the historic Victory achieved by the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of the President, Victorious Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev, remains an eternal source of pride for the nation. He noted that the Ministry continues to implement consistent social support measures for war participants, families of martyrs, veterans, and persons with war-related disabilities.
Information was provided on the DOST services and social support measures implemented for citizens belonging to these categories.
War veterans shared their battle memories with the event participants, including DOST volunteers, and answered their questions. As part of the programme, participants also took a tour around the Shusha.
Symbolically, the final knots of the Karabakh carpet were woven by participants of the Patriotic War themselves.
