Work is underway to extend the DOST service network to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The Regional DOST Center, currently under construction in Nakhchivan city, is expected to be launched this year.
This was announced at a press conference on the results of 2024 held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Farid Baghirzada, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and Acting Minister shared that DOST branches will operate in all regional centers of the Autonomous Republic.
The conference discussed the steps taken in the digitalization of services within the Ministry's departments and agencies, the creation of proactive services, and the proactive assignment of social payments through e-systems. It was also reported that last year, the State Employment Agency of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic employed nearly 2,2 thousand unemployed and job-seeking individuals, and 210 people were involved in vocational training.
The expansion of the self-employment program in the Autonomous Republic was emphasized. It was noted that in 2024, 96% more people, a total of 1,959 individuals, were included in the program compared to the previous year. Additionally, last year, 24 individuals from privileged categories were provided with vehicles, and the provision of vehicles for all individuals on the waiting list was completed.
Farid Baghirzadə also highlighted the results of work carried out in other areas of the Ministry's activities and responded to questions from the media.
