The "Explanatory Dictionary of Labour Market Terms" has been prepared by the National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Issues, which operates under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
Representatives from various public associations including the organization's senior officials, the book's reviewers, and members of the Public Council under the Ministry attended the presentation event for the new publication.
Elnur Safarli, Chairman of the Board of the National Observatory, briefed the participants on the dictionary. He noted that this publication is of significant importance as the first explanatory dictionary in the labour market sphere and serves to establish a unified terminological base in the field.
The dictionary, developed around four key areas covering various aspects of the labour market, provides detailed explanations for 5,500 terms in both Azerbaijani and English.
Subsequently, the views of the dictionary's reviewers were heard. Elshad Mammadov, Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry and a Doctor of Economic Sciences and Professor, spoke about the significance of the dictionary. He emphasized that the new dictionary serves as a valuable resource both theoretically and practically for the public and private sectors alike.
Other speakers highlighted the importance of precise definitions of legal terms within labour relations for labour market participants and non-governmental organizations.
It was noted that the publication would help raise awareness about the labour market, ensure terminological consistency, facilitate the correct understanding and usage of various terms in the field, and serve as a roadmap for those studying the subject.
