The first assets under this initiative have been provided to residents of Aghdam, Khojaly and Lachin.
The State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population has begun distributing purebred breeding cattle within the framework of the self-employment programme.
The first assets in this area — cattle of the “Simmental” and “Holstein” breeds — have been provided to residents of the Aghdam, Khojaly and Lachin districts, with each recipient receiving two purebred cows.
At an event held in Khidirli village of Aghdam district to distribute purebred cattle, it was noted that the decision to begin distributing purebred breeding cattle in the liberated territories was not accidental.
This is because the liberated districts are being revitalised, the economy is recovering, and local residents are establishing their own businesses. The self-employment programme provides support for this process of reconstruction and revival.
To date, small businesses have been established under the self-employment programme for 1,116 people relocated to the liberated territories. Of these businesses, 661 operate in agriculture, while 455 operate in manufacturing and services.
The provision of assets for purebred livestock farming aims to support the development of the business activities of residents participating in the self-employment programme, increase productivity and create opportunities for sustainable income.
The distribution of assets under the new package will continue in the Khojavend and Aghdara districts in the coming days.
