Monthly pensions or allowances granted due to the loss of a breadwinner are paid to children of the affected families who are enrolled in full-time education until they reach the age of 23.
Previously, students were required to submit annual certificates from their educational institutions to continue receiving these payments. This requirement has now been abolished.
As a result of a new digital solution implemented by the DOST Digital Innovations Center and the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, the process has been fully automated.
Information on full-time education status of children under the age of 23 of deceased persons studying within the country is now obtained electronically from the “Student-Graduate” information database of the State Examination Center. This ensures the automatic continuation of the relevant payments.
Educational status is updated automatically on a monthly basis, eliminating the need to submit certificates for the continuation of payments.
As a result of this innovation, the payment period of pensions and allowances due to the loss of a breadwinner has been automatically extended for more than 11.5 thousand full-time students without requiring any certificates.
