More than 650 individuals have benefited from the “Let Us Be Your Voice” online sign language interpretation service operated by the State Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
Launched for the first time in Azerbaijan in July last year, this service facilitates the communication of requests from persons with hearing and speech impairments to third parties, including government institutions and private sector organizations. The service acts as a “virtual bridge” between individuals who do not know sign language and persons with hearing and speech impairments.
These individuals contact the operator via video call or written message, and the operator performs the role of a sign language interpreter by establishing communication with the relevant third party according to the nature of the request and enabling online interaction.
To benefit from the service, citizens can contact the number 055 213 19 97 via the “WhatsApp” or “Telegram” platforms. The “Let Us Be Your Voice” sign language interpretation service operates six days a week — from Monday to Saturday, from 09:00 to 16:00, excluding Sundays.
