In the post-war period following the 44-day Patriotic War that ended with our Victory, 3,709 war veterans received medical, social, and psychological rehabilitation services at rehabilitation centers under the Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
During the same period, 2,389 persons with war-related disabilities were provided with 84,000 rehabilitation aids. Among them, 496 servicemen who lost their limbs in the war received 618 high-tech prostheses. In addition, 14 persons with war-related disabilities were provided with 15 advanced running prostheses by the Danish company “Levitate.”
These prostheses enable persons with war-related disabilities to move freely and actively while engaging in running and other sports activities.
Thanks to the consistent rehabilitation measures implemented in the post-war period, the efforts of professional medical teams, and the application of modern and effective methods, 238 participants of the Patriotic War have fully regained their health and overcome disability.
Providing effective rehabilitation services and expanding medical-social rehabilitation opportunities for persons with war-related disabilities remains one of the main priorities of the Agency.
