Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Anar Aliyev visited the Social service institution for elderly people under the Ministry’s Social Services Agency.
He got acquainted with the living conditions of the residents, the facilities created for them to spend their leisure time effectively, and the services provided to the elderly at the institution.
It was reported that the successful social policies of President Ilham Aliyev have made it possible to take significant steps towards increasing state care for the elderly. As part of the efforts in this direction, in recent years, an additional 5-story building with 170 beds has been opened at the institution, bringing the total number of beds to 300. Currently, the institution houses 229 elderly people, and each resident is provided with a room equipped with the necessary household appliances.
Additionally, the continuous support measures and humanitarian actions carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for vulnerable groups, including the residents of the Social service institution for elderly people, were highlighted.
It is worth noting that the institution, which has been equipped according to modern standards, offers residents various opportunities to spend their leisure time effectively, including a library, sports halls, workshops for handicrafts, and more. Activities such as excursions to cultural centers, museums, and various recreation centers are also organized for the elderly to make their free time more enjoyable.
Anar Aliyev met with the elderly people living permanently under state care at the institution, listened to their concerns, and showed interest in their well-being. The elderly residents expressed their gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for the attention and care provided to them, as well as their satisfaction with the services and conditions offered.
During the conversation, the Minister emphasized that the living conditions of the residents and the provision of quality social services in the stationary care are always under close attention. During the meeting, several elderly people also demonstrated their creative abilities and performing skills.
