A visit was also paid to a household service facility established under the self-employment programme in Aghali village.
Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, Anar Aliyev, received residents of the Zangilan and Jabrayil districts during a citizens’ reception held in Zangilan.
Prior to the reception, Minister Anar Aliyev laid flowers at the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
During the reception, citizens submitted applications concerning employment, targeted state social assistance, one-off benefits, and other social issues. Each application was reviewed individually, and appropriate measures were taken in accordance with the outcome.
Explanations were provided, in line with the legislation, regarding enquiries of an informational nature. Based on their applications, citizens were also registered for participation in active employment programmes, including the self-employment programme.
The Minister then visited the Smart DOST service point in Aghali village, Zangilan district, where he reviewed the organisation of services provided to citizens. More than 130 services in the areas of labour, employment, social protection, and social security are delivered there through a fast, transparent, and innovative approach.
A visit was also made to a barber shop established under the self-employment programme for Aghali village residents Anar Gadir oghlu Mammadov, Bakhtiyar Yusif oghlu Abdullayev, and Elnur Taleh oghlu Mammadov.
Under the programme, all three beneficiaries received the necessary assets to establish men's barber shops. The participants expressed their gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the support provided in enabling unemployed and job-seeking individuals to establish small businesses.
To date, employment has been secured for 714 people in Zangilan district, including the establishment of 47 small family businesses under the self-employment programme.
