A meeting was held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan with Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), who was visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the first meeting of the Ministers of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the OTS.
Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Azerbaijan, Anar Aliyev, noted that Azerbaijan highly values the efforts of the OTS Secretariat to strengthen cooperation in the social sphere among Turkic states. The Minister highlighted the importance of holding the first meeting of the Ministers of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of OTS member states in Azerbaijan. He emphasized the success of recent social reforms carried out in Azerbaijan and expressed readiness to expand cooperation and share best practices with OTS member and observer states.
Kubanychbek Omuraliev expressed satisfaction with the steps being taken to expand cooperation among Turkic states in the fields of labour, employment and social protection, and affirmed that the OTS Secretariat will continue to provide support in this regard.
A meeting was also held at the Ministry with Vedat Işıkhan, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Türkiye, who was in Azerbaijan to attend the first OTS ministerial meeting. Anar Aliyev stressed that, thanks to the efforts of President Ilham Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye have reached the level of strategic alliance. It was noted that cooperation between the two countries continues to develop successfully in labour, employment and social protection.
Vedat Işıkhan stated that the successful cooperation between the two ministries will continue to expand within the framework of the OTS as well. He underlined the special importance of the first ministerial meeting held in Baku under the title "Cooperation in the Field of Labour for Common Prosperity in Turkic States" for advancing bilateral and multilateral relations.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on future cooperation initiatives.
