A meeting was held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population with a delegation led by Ibrahim Esenkar, Director-General of the Occupational Safety and Health Department of Ministry of Labour and Social Security of the Republic of Türkiye.
Fatih Bilal Alodalı, the Labour and Social Affairs Adviser at the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan, also participated in the meeting.
Anar Karimov, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population emphasized that with the efforts of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, the relations between the two countries have reached the level of strategic partnership. He also noted that cooperation in labour, employment, social protection, and occupational safety has been continuously expanding.
Information was shared on the reforms carried out in labour relations in Azerbaijan, as well as the widespread application of innovative solutions in this field. It was highlighted that Azerbaijan has ratified nearly 60 conventions of the International Labour Organization, including those related to occupational safety and health. The activities of the Occupational Safety Center under the State Labour Inspection Service of the Ministry were also discussed. Support measures for employers in the areas of occupational safety and workplace certification were brought to attention.
Ibrahim Esenkar expressed satisfaction with the expanding social sector cooperation between the two countries and noted the mutually beneficial exchange of experiences in recent years regarding labour relations and the creation of safe and healthy working conditions.
The current state of bilateral cooperation in occupational safety, as well as the continuation of experience exchange in this area, were discussed during the meeting.
