A meeting was held with another group of persons with war-related disabilities at the Shaghan Rehabilitation Boarding House of the State Medical and Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.
Deputy Chairman of the Agency’s Management Board, Vugar Mammadov, noted that consistent measures are being implemented to improve the quality of life and rehabilitation of persons with war-related disabilities.
It was emphasized that modern conditions created at rehabilitation centers, individualized rehabilitation measures, and psychosocial support programs contribute to the recovery and reintegration of this group of citizens.
Information was provided on the work carried out at the Agency’s rehabilitation centers since the end of the Patriotic War, which concluded with Azerbaijan’s historic Victory, in the field of medical and social-psychological rehabilitation services for persons with war-related disabilities. As a result of the efforts of professional medical teams and the application of modern and effective rehabilitation methods, more than 260 individuals have regained their health and overcome their disabilities.
Head of Department at the State Employment Agency under the Ministry, Juma Nabiyev, stated that special programs are being implemented to integrate persons with war-related disabilities into the labor market. In the post-war period, employment has been ensured for 29 thousand members of martyr families and war participants, including the establishment of small family businesses for 13.5 thousand people from these categories within the self-employment program.
War participants expressed satisfaction with the modern rehabilitation system established in the country, the provision of rehabilitation services and aids for persons with war-related disabilities—especially next-generation prostheses—as well as employment support measures.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on strengthening social protection, expanding social support measures, and ensuring broader coverage of rehabilitation services for persons with war-related disabilities, and opinions and proposals were heard.
