A media tour was organised at the Nakhchivan Rehabilitation Centre for Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Media representatives were informed that medical and social rehabilitation services are provided to persons with disabilities at the 20-bed Centre. Significant steps have recently been taken to strengthen the Centre’s material and technical facilities.

In particular, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has donated a number of modern rehabilitation equipment items to the Centre.

The facility provides services in therapeutic physical training, physiotherapy (electrostimulation, inductothermy, phonophoresis, electrophoresis, ultrasound therapy, laser therapy, therapeutic baths, paraffin therapy, etc.), therapeutic massage and other areas.

The availability of modern medical rehabilitation equipment has created opportunities to expand the Centre’s existing capabilities and organise treatment and rehabilitation processes using more modern methods and an individualised approach.

During January–August 2026, the Nakhchivan Rehabilitation Centre for Persons with Disabilities provided rehabilitation services to 613 people with disabilities, which is 34 percent more than in the same period last year.

The Centre also carries out important work in the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities related to the 44-day Patriotic War. During the post-war period, rehabilitation services have been provided to 104 persons with war-related disabilities at the Centre.

Media representatives familiarised themselves with the facilities created at the Centre, the rehabilitation services provided to persons with disabilities and the physiotherapy procedures applied there.
