Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population Rashad Mustafayev participated in the Global Labour Market Conference held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Speaking at the high-level roundtable held on the first day of the conference, Rashad Mustafayev provided information on the reforms carried out in recent years in the fields of labour and employment in Azerbaijan, as well as on the active employment programs being implemented. He highlighted that, within the implementation of the Employment Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019–2030, consistent efforts are being made to expand decent work opportunities, support and develop an inclusive labour market, and ensure employment for unemployed and job-seeking individuals.
It was also noted that developing workforce skills in line with labour market demands, digitalizing employment services, and building close partnerships with employers are among the priority areas of activity. In 2025, employment authorities in the country involved 567 thousand people in active labour market programs, ensured employment for 189 thousand people, and implemented self-employment and vocational training programs.
The importance of exchanging useful experiences with partners from other countries regarding the work carried out and reforms implemented in these areas was emphasized, and it was stated that Azerbaijan is ready to share its successful practices.
