Social indicators for the first five months

During January–May this year, the State Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population provided 6.7 thousand persons with disabilities with 281 thousand rehabilitation aids.

Among these rehabilitation aids were 652 wheelchairs (including 13 powered wheelchairs), 977 upper and lower limb prostheses, and 1.7 thousand canes, crutches, and forearm crutches. In addition, 3,310 pairs of prosthetic and orthopedic footwear, 545 hearing aids, 110 corsets, and other rehabilitation devices were provided to persons with disabilities.

For persons with disabilities who, or whose relatives, were unable to travel to Baku and visit the Agency’s Prosthetic-Orthopedic Production and Rehabilitation Center, these rehabilitation aids were delivered directly to their homes.
