A mission representing the “Employment Support Project,” implemented by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population with financial support from the World Bank, is currently on a visit to Azerbaijan. A meeting with the mission representatives was held at the Ministry.
Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Vusal Nasirli emphasized the importance of the Project in expanding the self-employment program—one of significant socio-economic value—based on best international practices.
It was noted that the Project, which facilitates access of vulnerable groups to small business opportunities, has already supported the establishment of small household businesses for more than 25 thousand individuals through the provision of equipment for production and service areas.
Anna Sukhova, head of the World Bank mission, and other members shared their views on the implementation of the Project. They highlighted the successful practices achieved by our country and discussed the presentation of this internationally recognized experience as a model for other nations.
The meeting addressed the implementation progress of the Employment Support Project, priorities for the next stages, and future cooperation prospects.
