The delegation led by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Sahil Babayev, co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Serbia, is visiting Serbia to participate in the next meeting of the Commission.
The Azerbaijani delegation came to the "Tasmaydan" park in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, laid flowers in front of the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and paid tribute to his memory.
Within the framework of the visit, Sahil Babayev and Minister of Economy of Serbia Rade Basta and Minister Novica Tonchev, Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirovic, Minister of Family Welfare and Demography Daria Kisic and Minister of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Serbia Meetings were held between Serbia's co-chair Nikola Selakovic.
İt was emphasized that with the political will and efforts of the heads of state of Azerbaijan and Serbia, the relations of the two countries have risen to the level of strategic partnership at the meetings. It was stated that the trade turnover between our countries continues to increase, and the cooperation documents signed in the past period serve to develop relations on an upward line.
The agenda of the next 7th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission was discussed. Discussions were held on involving Serbia in the Black Sea submarine electrical and digital connection project, increasing bilateral and transit cargo flow, promoting mutual investments, and expanding cooperation based on new projects.
Issues of development of relations in agriculture, transport, labor and social protection, culture, ICT, tourism, education and other fields were discussed, information was given about the wide possibilities of Alat Free Economic Zone, and its importance for investors was brought to attention.
The social reforms carried out in our country, DOST experience, achievements in the field of digitization of state social services were noted, possibilities of expanding the contractual and legal base of cooperation in the social field were considered.
"Action Plan for 2023-2024 on the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia in the field of labor, employment and social protection" and "Labor of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Social Protection of the Population and the Ministry of Family Welfare and Demography of the Republic of Serbia" was signed at the meetings. Both documents reflect the directions of cooperation and exchange of experience between the Ministries in the relevant fields of activity.
