A meeting was held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population with a delegation led by Lea Gutierrez, Director General of the Central and West Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev emphasized that effective cooperation has been established between the Ministry and the ADB and highlighted the importance of joint projects implemented in recent years. The positive outcomes of the project “Strengthening ADB Support for Social Protection to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals” were also noted.
It was underlined that the ADB’s Country Partnership Strategy for 2025–2029 plays a significant role in expanding cooperation.
The delegation was informed about the achievements of recent social reforms in the country, active labour market programmes, and efforts aimed at enhancing workforce skills in line with labour market demands.
Lea Gutierrez expressed satisfaction with the successful cooperation achieved to date and confidence that joint activities will continue successfully within the framework of new projects.
During the meeting, discussions were held on upcoming activities under a new regional technical assistance project related to the labour sector, as well as future directions of cooperation in the fields of labour and social protection.
