A meeting was held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population with Mariyana Kuyundzic, Head of the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan.
Minister Anar Aliyev highlighted the social reforms carried out in recent years and increases in social payments, as well as achievements in digital solutions, transparency, accessibility, and the advantages of the DOST model.
Important steps in active labour market programmes, improvement of labour legislation, and alignment with international standards were noted. Amendments aimed at ensuring gender equality and Azerbaijan’s membership in the Equal Pay International Coalition were also highlighted.
The importance of joint projects implemented with the EU in social protection, rehabilitation, insurance-pension, and employment areas was emphasised, along with cooperation with the European Training Foundation.
Mariyana Kuyundzic expressed a positive opinion on the reforms and noted the importance of the meeting for future cooperation and joint projects.
