A delegation led by the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, Anar Aliyev, is on a visit to Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar, to participate in the 6th Conference of Labour Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states.
Anar Aliyev met with Indonesia’s Minister of Manpower, Prof. Yassierli, who also arrived in Qatar to attend the conference. The meeting discussed the development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia. The great potential for expanding cooperation in the field of labour and employment was emphasized. The importance of conducting experience and information exchanges in this field was also highlighted.
A meeting was also held with Qatar’s Minister of Labour, Dr. Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al Marri. It was noted that Azerbaijan-Qatar relations are at a high level thanks to the efforts of both heads of state and are continuously developing. Productive cooperation is also carried out within international organizations, including the OIC.
During both meetings, information was provided about the reforms implemented in Azerbaijan in recent years in the field of labour and employment, the expansion of active employment programs, and efforts to enhance the skills and competitiveness of the workforce.
The role of the OIC Labour Centre located in Baku in strengthening cooperation among member states in the labour and employment fields was noted. Discussions were also held on future cooperation and experience exchange.
In addition, a meeting of senior officials was held in Doha to prepare for the 6th Conference of Labour Ministers of OIC member states. Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, Rashad Mustafayev, participated in the event.
