An event on the theme of “Peace and Social Solidarity” was held by the Ismayilli “DOST House” branch of the DOST Inclusive Development and Creativity Center under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.
The event was held as part of the “Peace Month” declared by the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan and was jointly organized with the Ismayilli Children and Families Support Center under the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.
Representatives of the Ombudsman, prosecution and justice authorities, educational and vocational education institutions, the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, local branches of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, as well as volunteers participated in the event. The importance of promoting a culture of peace in society, protecting human rights, and strengthening social solidarity was emphasized. An exchange of views was also held on promoting mutual respect and developing an inclusive society.
As part of the programme, the participants familiarized themselves with the activities of the Ismayilli “DOST House,” the services provided there, and the conditions created for persons from vulnerable groups. The guests then joined the “Colours of Peace” creative sessions held with the participation of beneficiaries from vulnerable population groups.
At the end of the event, the Ismayilli Children and Families Support Center presented certificates of appreciation and gifts to the beneficiaries.
