The DOST Inclusive Development and Creativity Centre under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population is represented with a special pavilion at the “Urban Expo” exhibition opened within the framework of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku.
At the pavilion organised under the theme “A space where inclusiveness and creativity meet”, handicrafts prepared by the Centre’s trainers and beneficiaries in various fields, including pottery, artistic carving, stained glass, fine arts, and other creative areas, are being exhibited.
Visitors are provided with information about the Centre’s activities and service areas. It is noted that various handicrafts displayed at the exhibition, depicting Azerbaijan’s historical architectural monuments, were created within the framework of the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture”.
A video presentation on projects implemented to support the integration of talented individuals from vulnerable population groups into society is shown on a monitor installed in the pavilion. Informational brochures about the services of the DOST Agency, the DOST Inclusive Development and Creativity Centre, and the “Volunteer DOST” programme are distributed to exhibition participants in Azerbaijani and English.
A masterclass on stained glass art organised at the Centre’s pavilion attracted significant interest from participants, and guests joined the creative process and tested their skills in this field.
During the exhibition, members of the Centre are also expected to conduct various programmes and masterclasses in other training areas.
It should be noted that the “Urban Expo” exhibition, covering an area of 3.5 hectares, brings together more than 217 organisations from 66 countries. The exhibition serves as a dynamic platform for governments, civil society, academia, international organisations, and private sector representatives to exchange ideas, put forward initiatives, and establish partnerships around the WUF13 theme: “Housing for all: safe and sustainable cities and human settlements”.
