A delegation consisting of representatives from the DOST Agency and the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population is participating in the 34th European Social Services Conference of the European Social Network.
The conference, held in Valletta, Malta under the theme “Building Bridges – International Perspectives on Social Services”, aims to discuss global challenges related to digital transformation, social inclusion, and integrated care models, as well as exchange experience regarding innovations in the field of social services.
Within the framework of the event, Chairman of the Board of the DOST Agency Farid Mammadov and Chairman of the Board of the Social Services Agency Vugar Behbudov held meetings with Alfonso Lara Montero, Chief Executive Officer of the European Social Network, as well as heads of organisations from various countries.
During the meetings, information was provided about the achievements of social reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years, the advantages and successes of the DOST model, and measures taken to develop the social services system in the country based on advanced international experience. Views were also exchanged on social support measures for vulnerable population groups.
At the project forum held within the conference, Farid Mammadov delivered a presentation titled “Serving with Honour, United with Care” on the activities of the Unified Coordination Centres.
It was emphasised that the centres provide 26 services in 6 areas through a “one-stop shop” system to martyr families, military personnel injured during the war, and persons with disabilities, with a citizen satisfaction rate of 98.7 percent.
It should be noted that the DOST Agency under the Ministry has been a member of the European Social Network since 2021, while the Social Services Agency and the State Employment Agency became members in 2023.
