The State Labour Inspection Service under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population held a conference titled “Management of Psychosocial Risks in the Workplace: Modern Approaches and Solutions” on the occasion of 28 April – World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, Zaur Aliyev, noted that recent social reforms implemented under President Ilham Aliyev also cover labour relations. He highlighted the growth in employment contracts and the digitalisation of labour relations. He emphasised the importance of the “Labour and Employment” subsystem in ensuring efficient and transparent monitoring of labour relations, as well as in strengthening occupational safety systems.
Head of the State Labour Inspection Service, Vali Guliyev, stated that the conference theme aligns with the ILO’s 2026 slogan: “Let’s ensure a healthy psychosocial work environment.” He emphasised the importance of creating safe and healthy workplaces and noted that psychosocial factors significantly affect productivity and working conditions. Proper assessment and management of these risks are essential requirements of modern labour relations.
Speakers also highlighted the importance of international cooperation, social partnership, and the application of global best practices in occupational safety. The conference included a video presentation on occupational safety initiatives and an award ceremony for employers who actively participated in the “DOST Inspector” project and implemented exemplary occupational safety practices.
The event continued with a musical performance by the DOST Inclusive Development and Creativity Centre and a panel discussion on psychosocial risks in the workplace.
