Farid Mammadov, Chairman of the Management Board of the DOST Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, has commenced his activity as the new Chair of the Technical Commission on Social Security Policy Analysis and Research of the International Social Security Association (ISSA).
The first meeting of the Technical Commission under the chairmanship of Farid Mammadov was held in an online format. During the meeting, the Commission’s activities for the previous period were discussed, and the work plan for the coming years was presented. Within the discussions, several key areas were identified for the modernization of social security systems. These include innovation in social security systems, the application of a life-cycle approach, strengthening research capacity, and expanding the exchange of experience among countries.
During Farid Mammadov’s tenure as Chair of the Commission, one of the main objectives will be to enhance analytical capacities in the field of social policy. In addition, the application of artificial intelligence-based tools and the development of comparative analysis mechanisms for social indicators are also envisaged.
It should be recalled that at the World Social Security Forum held in Malaysia, upon the presentation of ISSA President Mohammed Azman, Farid Mammadov was elected Chair of the ISSA Technical Commission on Social Security Policy Analysis and Research for the period 2026–2028. This event is another indication of Azerbaijan’s growing role in shaping global social policy, as well as the high international recognition of the country’s DOST model and its social achievements.
