Today, certificates were presented to participants who completed internship programmes in the fields of tourism and culture within the framework of the “Opportunities for Everyone” social project implemented by the DOST Inclusive Development and Creativity Centre under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
The events were attended by Chief of Staff of the State Tourism Agency Kenan Aliyev, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population Nihad Mukhtarli, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Culture Elchin Najafov, Director of the DOST Inclusive Development and Creativity Centre Elnara Ansari, and Senior Advisor of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Maleyka Taghizada.
The speakers shared their views on the importance of promoting inclusivity, integrating persons with disabilities into the labour market, and developing their professional skills. It was emphasized that the “Opportunities for Everyone” social project plays an important supporting role in this direction.
It was noted that within the framework of the project, 25 persons with disabilities aged between 18 and 35 gained practical experience by being involved in daily work processes in various fields of activity, including institutions under the State Tourism Agency and the Ministry of Culture.
At the end of the event, certificates were presented to the project participants by both institutions.
The project was organized within the framework of the Azerbaijan Urban Development Campaign, a joint initiative of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), as part of the preparatory activities for the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
The aim is to support the integration of persons with disabilities into the labour market, promote an inclusive work environment, and contribute to the development of participants’ social and professional skills.
