The 10th International Occupational Safety and Health Conference titled “Shaping the Future Together: Sustainable Occupational Safety and Health for All” was held in Ankara, Türkiye.
During the conference, Head of the State Labour Inspectorate Service under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population Vali Guliyev participated in the panel discussion titled “International Approaches and Country Experiences” and provided information on Azerbaijan’s experience in the field of occupational safety.
He spoke about the work carried out in Azerbaijan in the areas of occupational safety and technical security, reforms implemented in this field, the broad application of digital solutions in labour relations and preventive approaches. He emphasised that the main goal in the field of occupational safety is to protect the life and health of employees, ensure safe and healthy working conditions and establish a flexible and proactive occupational safety system in line with future challenges.
In his speech, Vali Guliyev also provided information about the capabilities of the “Labour and Employment” subsystem, the activities of the Occupational Safety Centre, the “DOST Inspector” and “Model Enterprise” projects and Azerbaijan’s successful cooperation with the International Labour Organization. The importance of digitalisation, artificial intelligence, the transition to a green economy and the “Vision Zero” approach in the field of occupational safety was highlighted.
During the two-day conference, various panels and sessions were organised on the future of occupational safety and health, human-centred approaches, international practices and advanced applications. Representatives of state institutions, international organisations and social partners from various countries participated in the conference.
Following the conference, the delegation led by Vali Guliyev met with Erol Güner, Chairman of Türkiye’s Guidance and Inspection Board, and Eylül Aydın Kutlu, Deputy Director General of Occupational Safety and Health. During the meetings, views were exchanged on cooperation in the fields of labour inspection and occupational safety.
