The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, the State Labour Inspectorate Service under the Ministry, and the State Employment Agency organized awareness-raising events in 14 districts and cities (Baku, Nakhchivan, Ganja, Guba, Shamakhi, Sabirabad, Zagatala, Mingachevir, Sumgayit, Tovuz, Shirvan, Masalli, Lachin, Barda) on the topic “Gender Equality in Labour Relations – Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities.”
The events, attended by nearly 900 employers from public and private sectors—particularly organizations where women are underrepresented—focused on recent reforms in labour legislation and progressive amendments aimed at expanding women’s employment opportunities.
It was highlighted that reforms carried out in Azerbaijan regarding women’s labour participation were cited as an example during the 2025 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.
Participants were also informed about benefits, privileges, and additional guarantees provided under the Labour Code and other normative legal acts governing labour relations. Furthermore, services offered to employers by the State Employment Agency were presented.
Representatives of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs also shared their views on the topic.
Information was provided on the World Bank Group’s “Business Ready” rating report, and participants’ questions on the subject were answered at the end.
