The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population has launched awareness-raising activities in the regions on the topic “Gender Equality in Employment Relations – Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities.”

The events are jointly organised by the State Labour Inspection Service and the State Employment Agency, both operating under the Ministry. Their purpose is to raise awareness of recent amendments to labour legislation aimed at ensuring gender equality in employment relations, including expanding women’s opportunities to participate in the labour market.

The first event of this kind was held in Guba District. Representatives of the Ministry and its subordinate institutions, as well as representatives of 83 public- and private-sector enterprises, attended the event.

The events, held with the participation of employers and social partners, provide information on the benefits, privileges and additional guarantees stipulated in the Labour Code, the services offered by the State Employment Agency to employers, and Azerbaijan’s accession to the Equal Pay International Coalition. Participants’ questions were also answered.

It should be noted that awareness-raising activities are planned to be held in all economic regions of the country.
