Since the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population commenced its activities in 2020, the reintegration measures implemented by the Agency have enabled 953 children to return from social service institutions to their families.
During the process of returning children to family care, family development plans are drawn up, incorporating social support measures for families. Based on these plans, support is provided to strengthen families in the relevant areas.
Following their return to family care, monitoring is carried out to assess the overall situation within their families.
The Agency also provides social and psychological support and conducts awareness-raising activities to prevent children from being deprived of parental care. During the past period, the placement of 1,127 children in institutions by their families has been prevented.
It should be noted that, as in previous years, this year the period from 20 October to 20 November has been declared “Children’s Rights Month” in our country by the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, ahead of the anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The purpose of holding this month is to promote the measures implemented in our country to protect children's rights, raise public awareness in this regard and further increase attention to this area.
The right of children to grow up and live in a family environment is also one of their most important rights.
