Another pilot project has been launched by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, with financial support from the World Bank, to support participants of the “Employment Support Project” and the creation of jobs for vulnerable groups.
The project titled “Creation of Additional Jobs for Socially Vulnerable Persons” covers beneficiaries who, under the “Employment Support Project” that plays an important role in expanding the self-employment program, have hired employees for the small businesses they established.
Under the project, the full amount of wages of the employees hired by beneficiaries, as well as the taxes and other social contributions payable by the employer and the employee, will be covered by the “Employment Support Project” during the first 3 months, and 50 percent during the following 3 months.
An information event on the new project was recently held in Quba, where detailed information was provided on the objectives and implementation process of the project.
It was emphasized that this pilot project also aims to foster an employer mindset and experience among beneficiaries. It is also envisaged that labour relations with the employees they hire will continue beyond the initial 6 months.
At the event, cooperation agreements were signed with Qusar city residents involved in the new project — Aygun Hajimuradova, who established a small business under the “Bakery products production” package within the self-employment program, and Vadim Rzayev, who established a small business under the “Furniture workshop” package.
Relevant procedures will be carried out with them and other participants to be involved in the project.
