The provision of assets to the winners of the next “Incentive Awards” competition, organised within the framework of the “Employment Support Project” implemented by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population with financial support from the World Bank, continues.
This time, additional equipment was provided to another group of winners in Barda city to help them expand the small businesses they established within the self-employment programme.
So far, additional equipment has been provided to nearly 80 people from the Baku, Absheron-Khizi, Mountainous Shirvan, Central Aran, Shaki-Zagatala, Guba-Khachmaz, Lankaran-Astara and Shirvan-Salyan economic regions to support the expansion of their small businesses.
The assets provided to beneficiaries include equipment for small tailoring workshops, flour product production, men’s barber services, and car tyre restoration and repair activities.
The purpose of the “Incentive Awards” competition is to encourage successful beneficiaries of the self-employment programme to further develop their businesses, increase their income opportunities, and strengthen the sustainability of their activities.
Within the first stage of the competition, it is planned to provide additional assets to 100 beneficiaries in total. The delivery of assets is continuing in stages. In the next stage, another 190 people are planned to receive property support.
As part of the project, another awareness-raising meeting was also held in Barda city. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Board of the State Employment Agency Ulvi Abasquliyev, representatives of the Barda District Executive Authority, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), heads of non-governmental organisations, project employees, and more than 60 beneficiaries.
During the meeting, detailed information was provided about the project’s objectives, implementation mechanisms, participation requirements and support measures available for participants. Questions from attendees were also answered.
