With the joint organization of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population and the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice, an event was held this year as well at Correctional Facility No. 4 on the occasion of 8 March – International Women’s Day.
Within the framework of the event, a meeting was organized between 18 children deprived of parental care, who are residents of the Agency’s children’s social service institutions, and their mothers who are currently serving sentences at Correctional Facility No. 4.
The children congratulated their mothers on the occasion of the holiday by presenting the gifts and bouquets they had prepared. Afterwards, they performed poems, music, and dance performances, which were received with great interest.
Entertaining games organized within the program added colour to the meeting and left pleasant memories.
The aim of the event is to provide imprisoned women with the opportunity to spend more time with their family members, support their social rehabilitation, and prevent potential recidivism after their release.
