Social indicators for the first 4 months

In January–April of this year, the State Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population provided 5,700 persons with disabilities with 271 thousand rehabilitation devices.

Of these rehabilitation devices, 644 were wheelchairs (including 11 motorised wheelchairs), 870 were upper and lower limb prostheses and corsets, and 1,500 were canes, crutches, and elbow crutches. In addition, 2,785 pairs of prosthetic and orthopaedic shoes and 520 hearing aids were provided, while persons with disabilities were also supplied with other rehabilitation devices they required.

For persons with disabilities who were unable to travel to Baku, to the Agency’s Prosthetic-Orthopaedic Production and Rehabilitation Centre, either personally or through relatives, the rehabilitation devices were delivered directly to their homes.
