One of the key social programmes implemented in Azerbaijan for vulnerable population groups is the housing provision programme for martyrs’ families and persons with disabilities related to the war.
In an interview with local television channels, President Ilham Aliyev stated:
“In recent years, 16 thousand apartments have been provided by the state to martyrs’ families and war-disabled persons and their families. There is no second country that pays as much attention to this area as Azerbaijan.”
It should be noted that, in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, this programme was expanded five times after the Patriotic War, which ended with our great Victory. In the post-war period, more than 7 thousand apartments have been provided by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population to martyrs’ families and persons with disabilities related to the war.
One of the support measures aimed at persons with disabilities related to the war is also the provision of passenger vehicles. Over the previous period, 7,700 vehicles have been provided to citizens from this category, including 567 vehicles in the post-war period, and the provision of vehicles to those on the waiting list has been completed.
