Following the Patriotic War, in which the Azerbaijani Army achieved a historic Victory under the leadership of the President and Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, a large-scale social support package has been implemented for the families of martyrs and war participants on the instructions of the Head of State.
Within this framework, during the post-war period, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population has carried out the following measures:
• 120 thousand monthly social payments were assigned to 106 thousand martyrs’ family members and war veterans, and one-time payments were made to 25.3 thousand persons. The average amount of monthly social payments provided to them has more than doubled;
• The housing provision program for martyrs’ families and persons with war-related disabilities has been expanded fivefold. A total of 6.9 thousand apartments and private houses, as well as 567 cars, have been provided to persons with war-related disabilities;
• 91 thousand social-psychological support and rehabilitation services have been provided to 11 thousand members of martyrs’ families and war participants;
• 2,389 persons with war-related disabilities have been supplied with 84 thousand rehabilitation aids, including 496 persons who received 618 high-tech modern prostheses;
• 28.1 thousand members of martyrs’ families and war participants have been provided with employment, including 13.4 thousand who participated in the self-employment program.
Overall, the social support package covered 132 thousand persons, providing them with a total of 403 thousand support-oriented services.
